Armenian Highlands: 10-Day Trek


10-Day / 9-Night Tour

The "Armenian Highlands" program is an immersive, educational, and captivating experience that will immerse you in the natural beauty and fascinating history of Armenia. Through hiking, you'll explore spectacular mountain landscapes, enjoy the fresh air of the Caucasus, and discover carefully selected trails to ensure you don't miss any of the region's treasures. In addition to the natural wonders, this trip will be a true cultural adventure, with delicious Armenian cuisine, traditional dances, and meals enjoyed in the finest restaurants or authentic rural homes.

Day 3: Rest - Etchmiadzin - Zvartnots

Breakfast in tents and return to Yerevan.

Visit Zvartnots Cathedral (UNESCO) and Etchmiadzin, the spiritual center of Armenia.

Lunch at a traditional restaurant in Etchmiadzin.

Return to Yerevan, free evening.

Day 4: Amberd Fortress - Kari Lake

Visit Amberd Fortress, a medieval stronghold on Mount Aragats.

Lunch at “Amberd Tavern.”

Tour to Kari Lake, located at 3,200m on Mount Aragats.

Return to Yerevan, free evening.

    Khor Virap

    Day 7: Mount Khustup - Vahanavank

    Excursion to Mount Khustup (3,206m) with a nature picnic.

    Visit Vahanavank Monastery, located on a hillside.

    Return and overnight in Kapan.

      Day 8: Tatev - Khndzoresk - Ukhtasar - Yeghegnadzor

      Ride the world’s longest cable car to Tatev Monastery.

      Explore the abandoned cave city of Khndzoresk.

      Lunch at a rural house.

      Off-road excursion to the petroglyphs of Mount Ukhtasar.

      Arrival in Yeghegnadzor and overnight in a guesthouse.

        Day 1: Arrival & Yerevan City Tour

        Welcome at Zvartnots Airport and transfer to the hotel.

        Sightseeing tour of Yerevan (David of Sasun Statue, Mother Armenia, Cascade, Cafesjian Museum, Opera House).

        Welcome dinner with a folklore show at “Tavern Yerevan” restaurant.

        Evening walk through the city center and singing fountain show.

        Day 2: Garni - Geghard - Hatis Mountain Climb

        Departure to Garni and Geghard.

        Visit the rock-hewn Geghard Monastery (UNESCO) and the pagan Garni Temple.

        Lunch in a rural house.

        Afternoon: Climb and overnight camping on Hatis Mountain.

          Day 5: Azhdahak Mountain Climb

          Departure to Geghashen and start of the ascent to Mount Azhdahak (3,597m), famous for its crater lake and ancient petroglyphs. Lunch in nature.

          Return to Yerevan in the evening.

          Day 6: Khor Virap - Areni - Noravank - Kapan

          Departure to southern Armenia.

          Visit Khor Virap Monastery with a stunning view of Mount Ararat. Explore the “Birds” Cave in Areni and enjoy a local wine tasting. Visit Noravank Monastery, set among red cliffs.

          Lunch at a winemaker’s home.

          Arrival in Kapan and overnight at the hotel.

          Les Ailes de Tatev

          Day 9: Vardenyats - Noratus - Sevanavank - Gala Dinner

          Visit Vardenyats Caravanserai, an ancient stop on the Silk Road. Explore Noratus, the largest field of khachkars (cross-stones). Visit Hayravank Monastery and Lake Sevan, then tour Sevanavank Monastery. Lunch and cooking masterclass at Tsakhkunk (for groups 10+).

          Return to Yerevan and gala dinner.

          Day 10: Departure from Yerevan

          Breakfast and transfer to the airport.

              Package Details:

              The price indicated is per person, based on a double room.
              A supplement of EUR 250 applies for a single room.


              Child Policy:

              Children under 5 years old can participate free of charge when sharing a double room with two adults. Meals are to be paid separately.
              Children aged 6 to 10 years old receive a 50% discount when adding an extra bed in a double room shared with two adults. Meals are to be paid separately.
